Hijab Event 2013

This is my 2nd time (my 1st time pon tak update!~_~) attending event organized by We Are Beautiful Allah Loves Us. Alhamdulillah, I managed to go since I'm still in Malaysia! Last week I attended other event called I'm Sinning & I Know It at Masjid Bulat PJ (go check out my sister's blog for more info about it) so jumpa Wardina 2x in a week until she can recognize me!

Some other celebrities attended the event too; Ana Raffali (did i spell her name right? lantaklah malas nak Google.;p) & Sharifah Aleya.

 Abaya from Abaya Makkahwalmadinah
bought during New Year sale so I managed to grab it at half price; normal price is RM190 (ridiculous price!)

.unforgettable moment.

Dessert.Ok, rainbow cake bought at Bisou, not from the event.

Good sharing from a sister who attended the event. Read here.

MYPSA South Australia Raya 2011

See..how busy I am? ;p Nak sebulan tak update blog. Life memang busy tapi tidak busy untuk FB.;p Ok, now dah hari raya! This is my 2nd time celebrating Eid at Adelaide.Dijangka at least ada 5x raya lagi kat Adelaide since husband said, "Kita balik Malaysia for good when we reach 30 ye.." Huhu. Honestly, I don't know how to describe my feeling. Separuh suka, separuh tidak. Memikirkan lagi 5x raya kat Adelaide memang tak sanggup!:'(

I have nothing new for this raya but alhamdulillah I'm still happy!:D When I mentioned "nothing", yes I mean it!Baju baru, langsir baru, tudung baru, pinggan mangkuk baru, perabot baru etc adalah TIADA. Even esok nak raya pon masih bertungkus lumus depan komputer dengan assignment & Facebook.

"raya sebenar ialah apabila kita tidak perlu membelanjakan wang yang banyak untuk berhari raya."- FakirFikir, Adelaide.

Apapun alhamdulillah bersyukurlah kalau nak compare dengan cara orang Somalia beraya.Sedih tengok video ni.:'(

And today pergi sambutan Hari Raya anjuran Malaysian Postgraduate Student Association of South Australia (MyPSA SA). In my opinion, this year tak meriah macam last year sebab orang kurang ramai & lack of food variety since AJK dah tentukan makanan yang perlu dibawa ikut area rumah so banyak food yang sama & berlebih. I'm getting tired of rendang & nasi impit but I still cooked and brought my rendang ayam cos dengarnya area rumah kami kena bawa rendang ayam.

Venue: Bonython Park, Adelaide
Date : 3rd September 2011
Time: 10 a.m - 3 p.m

Really love the background.:)

I donno where I was looking at.~_~

With kak Ifa who is just a year older than me & her comelll Aus Ma'iesyah.Yes, baby Aus was born in Australia.;)

Good Deals

Yeay!I've bought 2 deals. Can't wait to redeem it!

1. Adelaide: Unlimited Zumba Dance for 1 Month!

In Adelaide, Zumba is very popular among postgraduate students esp. women/wife yang ikut husband further study yang secara tak langsung 'ter'kumpul lemak akibat mencuba resepi lalu makan seperti saya.;p As people age, the risk for getting fat also increases.I noticed that it happens to me.Exercise seems not enough for me.Makan pon sudah kena jaga.Hmppph.Tahan makan saja pon sepertinya tak berguna.Kena balance dengan exercise.

Husband constantly nagged me about getting exercise.Btw, husband rajin exercise.:) At that moment I was like being too satisfied with my own weight.Ceh, sungguh perasan!~~So macam tak kisah sangat kalau 1 hari tak exercise sebab kahwin dah ada exercise sendiri?Hahaha.Suruh pergi Zumba pon malas.Ni tengok weighing scale pon macam dah nak nangis baru nak kelam kabut.*Tepuk tangan.*

Got husband's permission to join Zumba. Tanya tu ikut syariat/syarat je.;p And ouh, I grabbed the deal at AUD9 only!

2.Malaysia: 45 minutes of Exciting Studio Photo Shoot

Dah lamaaa mengidam nak buat White Studio Photo Shoot and when husband said yes, I was more than happy!I've already arranged an appointment for this 26th.Tema apa?Wait and see!;p One day left to grab this deal at RM55 only!

Insya-allah will share the experience of both deals later.:)

Raya Aidiladha Musim Bunga

Woke up early this morning to get ready for Eid prayer.Imsak now is around 6 a.m.The Eid prayer started at 8.15 a.m.My husband and I went to Al-Khaleel mosque for the Eid prayer. We were there quite early so we managed to park our car inside the mosque's parking area.

I noticed that Hari Raya Haji ni lagi sikit orang dari Hari Raya Puasa lepas.

There's nothing much special for this Hari Raya.Takde plan nak masak apa yang special.Hanya buat bubur jagung untuk makan sendiri.;p Ingat nak beli barang2 masak lepas balik masjid but end up with memenuhi undangan (juga memenuhi perut, hihih) di rumah Kak Nani & Kak Nana.

Went back home with a full stomach and "heavy eyelids",Hihih~~

Home. This is how Maple Street looks like during spring!:D

P/S - Selamat Hari Raya Aidiladha!

Moon Lantern Festival

*A quick update*

Just got back from Moon Lantern Festival@ Adelaide Festival Centre.

As you can see, there were many big lanterns.Sorry for the low quality pics.(1st - the camera; 2nd - so many people were busy capturing pictures during that moment.Saya tak kuasa nak selit2 lama2.)

Watched fireworks, walking from one booth to another (there were few booths selling food, lanterns etc); I just bought a cup of cappuccino selebihnya mahu berjalan2 dating melihat alam saja.;p Many people were having picnic there.A picnic at night..sounds cool huh?Heh.;)

Had Mocha at Scoozi with some other friends before going back home.

P/S - OMG!Too much caffeine for today!*Sigh*termasuk nescafe gold for breakfast pagi tadi.

Our Raya

2nd Raya - went to a friend's house for 'beraya', had banana split at Dairy Bell.

Location:
Shop 6/168 Melbourne Street, SA

Price:
Banana split: $6.80 (approximately RM20)
3-scoop ice cream (which you can choose your fav flavor of course!)
1 biscuit roll
Several toppings (which you can choose too. I chose Caramel & Choc Topping)
Banana or bananas? I'm not sure of it.;p ; chopped

3rd Raya - Went to Malaysian Carnival '10 at Victoria Square. It was an event which organized by Malaysian Students’ Council of Australia, South Australian Chapter (MASCA SA) for the South Australian community to experience and be immersed in the essence of Malaysian culture. Can you imagine thousands of people (thousands I think.;p) from all over places gathered at the centre of Adelaide city to have fun during the event? termasuklah omputih:)

Proof of attendance. Perlu ke?Hampeh.;p

Very looooong queue to buy meals. There were nasi lemak, laksa, satay, rendang, cendol....you name it.(Malaysian food la of course!)

Other booths yang saya tak ambil 'port' sangat.

One of the performances. There were dikir barat, joget, fashion show for Malaysian traditional costume etc.

We had nasi lemak and laksa for our lunch.Haruslah main ikut jalan belakang dengan tidak beratur sebab beli kat gerai kawan.;p They cost $21 but the lovely Kak Mashitah gave us $1 off.Hee~~thanks!Okla kan.Business is business.Takkan nak bagi pree semua kawan2.Tutup kedai lah jawabnya.;p

Yummy nasi lemak! Honestly I think 1 is not enough for me.;p

Err..so-so laksa.Luckily that laksa is one of my fav food so 'we' managed to finish it.LOL

Before going back home, got 1 free satay which cost $2.50 (RM7.50); the most expensive satay that I've ever eaten.LOL.Alhamduliillah rezeki raya.~~

1 Hari Di Hari Raya

Kunci jam kononnya nak bangun pukul 5.(sebab subuh masuk dalam pukul 5.01 camtu).Tup2 pukul 6 baru terjaga (sebab tadi alarm bunyi tutup balik, tarik selimut!)

On my way to Masjid Khaleel.Hitam lagi?Yeah, sesetengah orang mesti rasa saya ini boring.;P

Kami sampai kat Masjid Khaleel dalam pukul 8.Ya allah, kereta sesak ok,parking dah penuh so terpaksalah parking jauh sikit.Bulan puasa pon tak penuh camni.Dari jauh dah kedengaran takbir raya.Ye,lain sekali takbir orang Aussie ni.Tak mendayu2 macam kat Malaysia tapi saya tetap suka takbir versi Malaysia.Apapun, bendanya sama je kan.Cuma bunyi je dengar lain kat telinga untuk 1st timer macam saya.

Bahagian perempuan ada 2 sempena raya ni.Untuk golongan mak2 yang datang bawak anak2 kecil, mereka kena duduk bawah. So bersyukurlah seketika saya yang masih 'single' ni dapat solat kat tingkat atas.

Pic ni diambil masa lepas tarawih bulan Ramadhan

Ni masa 1st raya.

If kat M'sia tengok bahagian perempuan majoriti putih je.(sebab pakai telekung).Kat sini pakai telekung itu rare.

Khutbah disampaikan dalam bahasa arab,Pasang jela telinga even tak faham.sambil mata melilau tengok fesyen2 baju yg menarik hatiBagus jugak saya tak jumpa kawan2 saya masa ni, if tak sure saya dah start pokpek macam jemaah lain.Isk.

Lepas setel semua, kami pergi ke taman di mana geng2 Malaysia berkumpul, bawak makanan masing.*Mi kari, nasi himpit, kuah kacang,rendang,kuih&macam2 lagi(Sori takde pics makanan sebab saya dah tak sabar nak makan sampai lupa.;p)

Sesi bergambar

P/S - Next entry: Malaysian Carnival.

Kampung Night 2010

My husband and I went to a dinner event which is called 'Kampung Night 2010'. It is jointly organized by MASCA SA (Malaysian Students' Council of Australia,South Australia), UMNO SA and MySA to celebrate Malaysia's 53rd year of independence.I was so excited to see other Malaysians and it felt like being in my own beloved country.:)

The ticket price is $40 for a student.

The dress code for the night is 'Orang Kampung' or traditional.I didn't have any special attire to match the dress code.:( I only have a pair of baju kurung here and the rest are jubah)! Therefore, I just wore my nikah jubah!(to match the dress code and my husband's baju melayu!LOL)

We sat at Table A (which is quite near to the stage) along with my husband's friends (Their wives are my friends too.) Btw, we've planned to be seated together.;p

There were performances like joget, dikir barat etc but what attracts me most was the food!;p (The lucky draw too, maybe, but I didn't win any.Isk.)

Ok,let's see the food.(All food are catered by San Giorgio and they were HALAL.)

Taalim

What are you doing during your weekend?

Every Saturday morning (about 10.30am) my husband will send me to Sis Nita's house for taalim. Taalim is an activity which you have to sit together to hear anything about Quran, hadith, adab, stories of sahaba etc.My husband and I used to have taalim at home during our free time. However, he still sends me to Sis Nita's house so that I can be friend with other sisters from various countries.

Besides gaining more knowledge in Islam, I can learn English in many type of accents. The taalim was in English (read by Sis Nita who is a Greek Australian woman) so that I need to pay more attention in order to fully understand it or else it won't be no meaning at all.;p Btw, I always think of myself as having bad hearing.LOL.

I need taalim for myself to become a better Muslim and gain knowledge of the Quran consistently, or else I will be always on the same level of who I am now (as a Musliam) or maybe worse.Nauzubillah.
